Hi Polish friends!

I would like to ask: how heard You the Hungarian language?
- The Italians say, this language just like an arabic language.
- Many nations say, this is very similar to the Far-East languages.
- And the Hungarian scientists say, this is very similar to the Finnish language. :D :D

And what say the Polish people? How heard the Hungarian language?

I am already accustomed to it, but sometime it reminds me a little bit of italian/german mix.

But in fact it is one of a kind.

For me another languages sound like Hungarian (except Polish of course and English, French, Spanish, Italian, German etc., which I've heard). If I hear a foreign language speakers I think firstly: are they Hungarians?

You say, except this languages (Polish, English, French, Spanish, Italian, German) the another languages are similar to the Hungarian (for example: Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc.)?

For the Poles, a Hungarian is certainly a strange and difficult. ;) I think that Hungarian and Finnish may appear similar.
But the same is with Japanese, Chinese, Korean. For many people, these languages are similar, and in fact are very different.
It depends on become familiar with the language. ;)

No. I meant that when I hear foreign language I think: are they Hungarians? It would be nice. I just like Hungarians and I like when we meet with each other and visit our countries.
Hungarian language sound like... Hungarian. It's really unique and mysterious. You aren't definitely Finno-Ugric people. You are people from steppe whose sources are similar to ours. But we have been slavicisated in language so most of people seem they're Slavs. But in reality it's much more complicated. To creation of Polish Nation greatest influence had Sarmatic Myth. But I think it's not only a myth. It's also truth. And when we look for similarities for Hungarian language they're, for sb who now this, none. Other similar languages has fallen into forgetfulness. So ending conclusion: we can find similar word, some gramatical details but there is no existing group in which may be assigned Hungarian.
Sorry for off-topic
Greetings

This is not off topic. :) I support the Polish sarmatian origins, too. This proved the Polish-Hungarian genetical kinship.

They like this or not, but we don't have genetic kinship with the Finns. Just a few words. We live together a few hundred years, but this not make us relatives. And I like the Finns! I very like them. And I don't have any problem with them! But this not changing that the Finn-Hungarian kinship is a myth that is created in the Austrian Empire. ;)

At first Hungarian sounded for me like language from... Mars ;) But when I familiarized with it, I have no problem to recognize this language. Hungarian has very characteristic melody, especially when it's spoken very fast. Now Hungarian in my mind sounds like... Hungarian ;)
