I don't know. :( There are the highest floods nowadays in the East Hungarian region. I think better choice, if you wait some weeks.

Mariusz Jarz±bek wrote:
On Hungary, you can buy a train ticket on the train ?

Lanti wrote:
Maniek wrote:
Or Hungary, you can buy a train ticket on the train ?

No, You have to buy in the station. The ticket inspector just check the ticket in the train. Every city station have a ticket seller spot.

But, there's some little villages, where's no have a ticket seller. In this case, you have to buy the ticket in the train from the ticket inspector. BUT JUST IN THIS CASE!

If you get on the train such a station, where is a ticket seller, and you don't buy here, the ticket inspector PUNISH YOU MINIMUM 10.000 FORINTS.

So, every case you have to buy the ticket in the station.

Mariusz Jarz±bek wrote:
And at night a ticket seller is probably closed  Yes ?

Maniek wrote:

I think yes.

I search in the net and I found this site:
https://jegyvasarlas.mav-start.hu

This site is an online ticket buyer page. On the "Regisztráció" link, you can registrate an account and after this, you can buy any Hungarian train ticket.
On the right side of this page, there's a link: "Jegyátvételi pontok".
On this page, you can choose the city (probably your case: Budapest - Keleti or Nyugati train stations), where you want to get your ticket. Look at the pictures and the map, where is the ticket publisher machine on the station. You have to enter that code here, that you get in the buyer page.

This is the FAQ page for the registration and for the ticket buy:
https://jegyvasarlas.mav-start.hu/eTicketV2/hogyan_vasarolhatok.html

You have to translate it word by word with the Google Translater, becouse don't do it the entire page. :(

Yeah, a little bit complicated.

Mariusz Jarz±bek wrote:

Lanti wrote:
Yes, you have buy ticket from the driver:
http://www.menetrendek.hu...etrend/html.cgi

But there's no buses directly from Budapest to Debrecen. You have to get off and get on a new bus in a city.

Mariusz Jarz±bek wrote:
Or I will choose a later train:

RED - what is it ??? change ?

It takes longer than by train.

Lanti wrote:
In the first picture, the first train (IC = InterCity) is tha fastest and highest price train. The "R" letter say: "seat purchase required". In this case, you have to find the exact wagon and the exact seat (just like in the airplanes) where your ticket say. The "Holló IC" is the name of this route. This is appeared on the screens in the station, too.

The second train is the slowest and lower pricest. The gyors (fast) word in this case is the famous Hungarian black humor. :D In this second train, I think you don't want to buy a ticket for an exact seat.

On the menetrend.hu picture, Gyöngyös is a city, where the bus stop, and you must get off the bus, and you must find the next bus on the station, which is go to Debrecen. The "Várakozás" (waiting) means when minutes after your arrive start the next bus to Debrecen. You have to wait 35 minutes for the next bus.

Mariusz Jarz±bek wrote:
Probably I will choose the train :D

Maybe I perhaps "come to an understanding" with conductor 8-) And go with the train in 3 a.m.

Lanti wrote:
I made a route plan with the utvonalterv.hu:

It's very easy to get from Budapest-Nyugati to Népliget Center. You can only use the M3 metro. You have to get off the metro in the 8. stop.

In the 8. metro stop, you have to find the 901 night bus. (I think when you Budapest in the first time, you go this wrong direction with the number 1 tram.) Or you can walk 654 meter. This is your choice. But I don't recommend to walking alone in the night. You have to go 1 stop with the bus.

You can found the all tickets in Budapest here:
http://www.bkv.hu/jegyinfo/tajekoztato2010.html
I think there's no night tickets in Budapest.

PS.: Please send me what day and time you want to use the Budapest Public Transport, becouse I want to make a more exact route plan.

ATTENTION!!!!! The M3 metro is arrive in the Népliget Bus Station! The routing webpage is calculate the route to the center of the Népliget park!!!!!!!!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE ANY BUS AFTER THE METRO, BECOUSE YOU ARRIVE IN THE NÉPLIGET BUS STATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of ticket machines:
http://www.bkv.hu/jegyinfo/automatak.html#ker6
You can search the "M2 - M3 - kisföldalatti metrócsomópont" metro station.

When you go down the metro station you REALLY check out what metro is. Becouse (as you can see) the M2 and M3 metro tubes was in the same node!!!!! Very important.

"Érme, érmében ad vissza" -> This means the machine is only used by coins, and only give back the money in coin. You must have some Forint coins, if you want to buy the tickets from the machine!!!

"vonaljegy, metrószakaszjegy, 24 órás jegy, családi jegy" -> This means what tickets are selled in the machine. I translate it to English. I think you print it: :)
Vonaljegy -> Line ticket
Metrószakaszjegy -> Metro Line Ticket (I think this is enough your route.)
24 órás jegy -> 24 hour ticket
Családi jegy -> Family Ticket

I think you buy enough tickets your route to Népliget and back when you go home. Minimum 2 line ticket plus 2 metro line ticket.

http://www.bkv.hu/jegyinfo/nyitvatartas.html#ker6
As you can see, the ticket cash desks is opened between 06:00-20:00.

Where can you go to the M3 metro tube?
I was in the Nyugati train station once in my life. When you get off the train, you go to the station towards. I think when you arrive in the station building, you turn right, and go down a lower land. There are many checker boards on the ceiling. You find the M3 metro in this boards and go this direction! I think when you exit the train station, there is a ticket machine.

Hello guys,im new in this forum:Im from Hungary,i live in the northwestern part of it,in Győr.
I speak not enough good english,but i will help,if i can.

So,some good advices to polish tourists:

-always take care of your packs,on the train,on the metro,on the bus! Always hide your wallett in your deepest pocket inside your pack.Always share your money to two part,if someone steal one,you still have some money.

-If you are in big mass, example in bus, always watch your back, there is a lot of gipsy thief, who want your money from your back pocket, especially in Budapest.

-if you dont know, where you are, just ask a younger hungarian, they speak english more, then the older hungarians. They will help you kinder,if you say, your are from Poland:)

Have a nice trip to Hungary!

The Andrássy út is really beautiful.
